Numbers 20:17-21

17 aPlease let us pass through your land. We will not pass through field or vineyard, bor drink water from a well. We will go along the King’s Highway. We will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left until we have passed through your territory.” 18But Edom said to him, “You shall not pass through, lest I come out with the sword against you.” 19And the people of Israel said to him, “We will go up by the highway, cand if we drink of your water, I and my livestock, dthen I will pay for it. Let me only pass through on foot, nothing more.” 20But he said, e“You shall not pass through.” And Edom came out against them with a large army and with a strong force. 21Thus Edom frefused to give Israel passage through his territory, so Israel gturned away from him.

Deuteronomy 2:4-5

4and command the people, “You are about to pass through the territory of hyour brothers, the people of Esau, iwho live in Seir; and jthey will be afraid of you. So be very careful. 5Do not contend with them, for I will not give you any of their land, no, not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on, because kI have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession.

Deuteronomy 2:9

9And the Lord said to me, l‘Do not harass Moab or contend with them in battle, for I will not give you any of their land for a possession, because I have given mAr to nthe people of Lot for a possession.’

Deuteronomy 2:19

19And when you approach the territory of the people of Ammon, odo not harass them or contend with them, for I will not give you any of the land of the people of Ammon as a possession, because I have given it to pthe sons of Lot for a possession.’

Judges 11:15-18

15and said to him, “Thus says Jephthah: qIsrael did not take away the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites, 16but when they came up from Egypt, Israel went through the wilderness rto the Red Sea and scame to Kadesh. 17 tIsrael then sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, ‘Please let us pass through your land,’ ubut the king of Edom would not listen. And they sent also to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel vremained at Kadesh.

18“Then they journeyed through the wilderness and wwent around the land of Edom and the land of Moab and xarrived on the east side of the land of Moab and ycamped on the other side of the Arnon. But they did not enter the territory of Moab, for the Arnon was the boundary of Moab.
